Dear Photograph IO readers,
The past few months have been extremely busy for me. Hold on.
I started this blog during my spare time this summer, and I never expected for it to grow so quick nor it to be so time-consuming; I never expected to have nearly 50 000 visitors during that downtime, yet those visitors are nearly all due to search engine traffic. While I was studying, you readers were being disappointed for the lack of content. I deeply apologize for this near 3 month hiatus during which no content whatsoever came on the blog. Sorry guys.
Does it mean that I will start again to write daily on Photograph IO? Probably not. But I will at least make the effort to contribute weekly to this blog. Maybe more of personal thoughts, and less of tutorials/how-to’s. And this is the first article.
So what has happened in the meanwhile?
First, I have gotten more experienced in film photography, shot both color negative and BW film. HP5 definitely rocks as a film, with its nice grain, sharpness and overall good feel. As for color films, Fuji Superia is kind of bad… maybe I just got a lot of bad rolls, but the colors are way too greenish for my taste; Kodak negative film is just a lot better, and more consistent too.
I still owe you guys (and the original inviter, thanks) a review of the OnePlus one for photography; that was the entire reason I got an invite to begin with… patience.
In the meanwhile, I also went to Prague, Czech Republic and had the chance to experience some of the best architecture out there. Photos are definitely coming.
I got a second Minolta X370 body, and although it is technically lower to the X700, the electronic shutter speed display in viewfinder is just so better, and if I ever decide to sell a film body, the X700 will probably be the one.
Finally, I’m making the decision of posting my longer, more thought out posts to Medium. Is it to grow a larger audience? Yes, definitely, but in retrospective, the interface and design is just so beautiful I can’t resist.
Yes, this post is mostly a random collection of thoughts than anything else defined by structure, but hey, lemme get back to blogging, alright?
